Article 1 – General Provisions and Developer Statement
Simple Tech Dev (hereinafter referred to as “we” or “us”), as a Google Play developer, fully recognises the importance of personal data. This Privacy Policy applies to all mobile software products we publish (collectively, “our Apps”) and is intended to clearly explain the rules we follow when processing your information in connection with each type of App.
We strictly adhere to the principle of data minimisation. Our current product portfolio covers the following six categories of utility tools (we will update this policy from time to time as new products are launched to cover additional categories):
-
Video Downloader
-
Recover Deleted Message
-
QR Code & Web Scanner
-
Data Recovery (deep scanning and restoration of device storage)
-
Status Downloader
-
Last Seen
Regarding updates to this policy: As our features evolve and our product line expands, this Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. If material changes occur (such as adjustments to the scope of permissions collected or new data processing scenarios), we will notify you in advance via pop‑up messages or prominent in‑app notices. Your continued use of our products after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Article 2 – Detailed Information Collection for Each Application
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the core services of each App. All collection is initiated locally on your device. Specific details are as follows:
1. Video Downloader
System permissions involved: INTERNET (to connect to target resource addresses), ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (to assess network conditions and conserve data usage), and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (to save downloaded content to the local folder you specify).
Information collected: Basic device model and operating system version are read to ensure compatibility. We do not record your download history links, nor do we collect your social media account credentials.
2. Recover Deleted Message
System permissions involved: BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE (notification listener service). This permission enables the App to read transient push content displayed in the system notification bar, so that it can be retained locally before being cleared by the system.
Information collected: The restoration process operates entirely within a closed loop on your device; we do not upload your notification content to the Internet. This tool cannot recover historical notifications received before installation, nor does it directly access internal data of any chat applications.
3. QR Code & Web Scanner
System permissions involved: CAMERA (to use the rear camera for real‑time scanning and decoding) and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (to verify whether the parsed link is accessible).
Information collected: This tool is an independent third‑party technical solution. The link resolved from a scan will direct you to public web content; we are not responsible for the privacy security of third‑party web pages, nor do we record your scanning history or browsing traces.
4. Data Recovery (deep scanning and restoration of device storage)
System permissions involved: MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (full storage management for traversing the device to retrieve deleted traces), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (to read from and write to the storage card for exporting recovered files). Additionally, to recover lost communication records, this tool may request READ_SMS, READ_CALL_LOG, and READ_CONTACTS permissions.
Information collected: Metadata of files involved in the scanning process (such as file names, sizes, and timestamps) are only cached locally and are automatically cleared upon completion of the operation. They are never uploaded to the cloud.
5. Status Downloader
System permissions involved: WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, used to download publicly visible ephemeral multimedia content (e.g., temporary images and short videos) and archive them to your local photo album or designated folder.
Information collected: This feature is designed to help users organise publicly available information they follow. It is a supplementary local management tool and has no official affiliation with any instant messaging software developer.
6. Last Seen
System permissions involved: PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (device usage access permission), used to analyse the activity timestamps and network request response cycles of authorised applications on your device.
Information collected: This feature is positioned to help you understand your own digital lifestyle patterns for better time management. We use it to summarise your personal daily high‑frequency online periods and network habits. It does not involve tracking the geographic location of any other individual user, nor is it intended for surveillance purposes. All statistical results are presented only to you.
Article 3 – Third‑Party Cooperation and SDK List

Supplementary note: In addition to the SDKs listed above, we may introduce other auxiliary SDKs (e.g., for crash monitoring, network acceleration, image compression, etc.) with version updates or new product launches. At that time, we will provide supplementary disclosure in the app’s startup privacy notices or in the version update logs. The updated SDK list will also be reflected in subsequent versions of this policy.
Article 4 – Local Processing and Data Storage Principles
Commitment to no data cross‑border transfer: Except for the necessary advertising and analytics data transmitted by the third‑party SDKs in accordance with their own agreements, all content you generate within the Apps (including downloaded videos, restored notes, scanned images, recovered contacts, and statistical online habit charts) resides solely on your physical device. We do not operate any backend servers to store your personal files, nor do we actively send your local data back to any of our own hosts.
Article 5 – Information Disclosure and External Transfer Restrictions
Strict confidentiality: We will not actively sell, rent, or transfer your personal information to any third party.
Statutory exceptions: We may disclose necessary information within the scope permitted by law only when required by applicable laws, judicial rulings, or administrative orders.
Third‑party services: Data interactions occurring through the aforementioned SDKs are ultimately governed by the privacy terms published on the respective service providers’ official websites.
Article 6 – Security Protection Mechanisms
Local isolation: The app sandbox environment ensures that data between functional modules do not interfere with each other, and system resources are released immediately after tasks are completed.
Encryption in transit: All data transmitted over the network is encrypted using TLS protocols to prevent eavesdropping during transmission.
Transient permissions: We do not retain background access to sensitive information; corresponding permission resources are released once the critical operation is finished.
Article 7 – Your Data Sovereignty and Control
You have absolute control to delete your locally stored data with one click:
Uninstalling any of our Apps will cause the system to automatically remove its corresponding local cache folder.
Go to your device’s “Settings” → “Apps” → select the App → “Clear data” to erase all local archives at once.
Revoking a permission in your system settings will automatically disable the related function until you grant it again.
Article 8 – Protection of Minors’ Information
Our utility Apps are primarily intended for users aged 16 or older (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from minors. If a guardian discovers that a minor has used our Apps without consent, please contact us immediately via the email address in Article 10, and we will guide you through clearing the relevant local residual data.
Article 9 – Legal Basis and Your Rights (Special Note for EEA and UK Users)
For users located in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you have the statutory rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, data portability, and lodge complaints with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing information are primarily your explicit consent (e.g., for personalised advertising options) and the contractual necessity to perform the services (e.g., providing download and recovery functions).
If you wish to exercise any of the above rights, or if you have questions about this policy, please send your specific request to the developer contact channel in Article 10. We will provide a substantive written response within 30 calendar days.
Article 10 – Payment Processing for In‑App Purchases
Some of our utility apps include in‑app purchase options via Google Play (e.g., unlocking the full version or subscribing to services). It is important to clarify that all payment‑related sensitive information (including but not limited to card details, Alipay/WeChat Pay binding information, and billing postcodes) is handled directly by Google Play’s payment system. As developers, we receive only the success or failure status of the transaction in order to grant the purchased benefits. We do not set up or maintain any server to store payment information, nor will we ever ask you for your payment password or CVV code.
